Food and Beach in San Francisco?

My husband and I are going to SF on Saturday for the afternoon. We would like to get our favorite soup in a bread bowl and visit a beach. Anyone have any suggestions. We dont want to go to far into the city this time since we only have the afternoon. I love the Marin Headlands Rodeo Beach, but want to try something different.
